GERMANTOWN COURT
In 2004 Germantown Partners announced and
quickly sold out Germantown Court, eight single
family homes located on tree-lined 5th Avenue
North, designed by D A | A D. Ranging in size from
approximately 1,050 to 1,250 square feet, the 2 bed-
room, 2 1/2 bath residences are grouped around a
central, green courtyard. Front and rear porches on
each home enhance the inherent sense of community created by these homes. The
first of its kind in Nashville, Germantown Court received
a citation from the Middle Tennessee American
Institute of Architects in recognition of Urban
Community.
THE GERMANTOWN BUILDING
Ask any urban planner what makes for a great
neighborhood and, no doubt, one of the answers
will be mixed use buildings. Conceived as part of
their original redevelopment plan, the Germantown
Building at 1200 5th Ave. North provides ground
floor commercial space and six loft residences on
the second floor. The building is home to the
hugely successful Germantown Cafe and the
offices of Germantown Partners. Following its
completion in 2002, the Historical Commission
of Metropolitan Nashville awarded the Germantown
Building their First Place award for urban infill in
an historic neighborhood.
CUSTOM SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES
In November of 1997 Germantown Partners LLC
began construction of the first new single family
homes seen in the neighborhood in decades. The
first 12 residences, designed by Peter Talbot
Architects with Baxt and Associates, have won
both the Excellence in Development Award and
commendation from the Historical Commission
of Metropolitan Nashville. Together with the
beautifully restored homes and new mixed-use
building with which they share the block, they
make 5th Avenue North one of the most dynamic
addresses in Nashville. |
